Pacific Orcas - British Columbia (Map)
"Khwooff! the blast of his blowhole was as loud as a geyser. The bull orca passed just in front of our kayaks, about 25 metres out, surfacing straight ahead, so close we could see the white patch by his eye, the greyish tinge of his back, and follow the whole graceful black and white curve and arc of him, from nose to tail, as he dove again." And so one of our guests describes a memorable meeting with orcas on a kayaking tour in Johnstone Strait.
Johnstone Strait is the best place in the world to see these magnificent orca whales. Every summer resident orca pods return to this area to socialize and feed on returning salmon.
Couple this opportunity to view orca in their natural setting, with camping on isolated beaches, enjoying all that a west coast marine environment has to offer, and you have truly experienced the adventure of a lifetime.
