Nootka Sound on Vancouver Island's west coast, offers the experienced and first time sea kayaker, a window on the culture, nature, and history of one of British Columbia's prime kayaking destinations.

A rugged coast, safe harbours, remote beaches, rainforest, small islands, and wildlife all add to a visitor's introduction to a temperate marine environment.

Our itinerary explores this natural wonderland, along with the Spanish, English, and indigenous influences. Little has changed since Captain Cook visited the Sound in the late 1700s. Stops at a working lighthouse, an unique church with stained-glass windows depicting key historical events, Mowachaht totems and artwork, are but some of the historical highlights that will make your sea kayaking visit a truly memorable one.
