The rugged nature of the Chilkoot Trail underpins the challenge, anticipation, and danger which confronted the men and women of the Klondike Goldrush of 1898. As you follow in the footsteps of these hopeful adventurers, a sense of kinship and appreciation of their accomplishment permeates your being.

The Chilkoot Trail is a museum to this epic moment of history. Discarded personal items, graves, abandoned towns, and other reminders dot the landscape.

Unique to the Chilkoot Trail is the changing ecosystems that the hiker experiences. Rainforest, alpine tundra, and boreal forest offer snowcapped mountains, hanging glaciers, turquoise lakes, cascading rivers.

Our travel to the trailhead at Dyea begins with a journey aboard the White Pass & Yukon Railroad through the scenic Skagway Valley to its terminus in Skagway, Alaska.
